With no image displayed only headphones, the audience is asked to consider what the original image might look like through the sound and title alone.

The distant sound of waves, a broken sound system plays a snippet of pop music stuck on a loop, the ebb and flow of a sanding machine creates white noise that hypnotically rotates as it is caught by the wind.
Restoration is inspired by a field recording made at a carousel ride undergoing out-of-season repairs at Old Hunstanton beach, Norfolk. Each work features sound recordings subjected to tempo changes without altering the original pitch. The process literally extends and/or compresses time captured in the sound recordings. This in turn sustains the memory of these auditory moments.
